Shadebob/Flare (1997)

Another old-school demo effect written as a teen, though I suppose it was somewhat more present-school back then.  A mask slides over the frame buffer in a lissajous pattern, incrementing the frame buffer values wherever it goes.  A smooth palette in an indexed color mode gives the final appearance.

A flare variant applies fade/color decay by subtracting a constant value from the entire frame buffer after every frame.
